So my painting frenzy is continuing and it's becoming clear to me that I am an obsessive person (just in case I wasn't quite concrete on that before, heh). Last month was the driving range, this month the painting has driven over my brain like a tank. It's all I think about. My mother has pointed out to me that I might want to actually do some work...for which I am paid...that's the plan starting Monday. There will be a moratorium on obsessive creativity and sportsmanship until I get through at least two whole units of graphics. Temptation and discipline...the sucky part about working from home.
Anyway, I've actually finished a couple of the pieces from my previous post in addition to starting and completing a third, which has me rather shocked because I can usually muck around with a single canvas for months before getting it to what I like to call a stopping point, in other words, it's done for now, but not really and trully DONE.
So Vielleicht Morgen now looks like this. I still need to construct a frame for it (which is going to be a pain since I necessarily used heavyweight bars due to size), but when I look at it there isn't anything else I feel like I can or should add. Which is a nice feeling.

That's my bedroom wall, btw, which is mocha brown, way darker than I've ever considered going before, but I love it, and contrary to what you'd expect, the room feels larger, not smaller (probably keeping the trim and plantation shutters bright white has to do with this?).
In golf related squee, I've been a golf history buff for some time (definitely genetic when you have a Grandpa who played with Arnie Palmer, Jack Nicklaus and Lee Trevino) but the last year or so I've become kind of fascinated with golf ephemera. I routinely search online and on ebay for various particular items of interest and was just mentioning over the weekend how I'd love to find a Vardon Flyer and then this week not one but two went up on ebay. The odds of this are like well, mathy. I have
this window permanently open! I am drooling and also concerned over the health of my bank account once it gets down to the wire.
Also,
ez_as_pi posted
this cuddly pic of her wonderful pup, Sophie and it occurred to me I had a couple of good Lia pictures to post...
Lastly, I just want to say that the
Due South Match is just the most awesome thing ever. When I was a child my Mum did the traditional Austrian thing with the advent calendar, she made this lovely quilt to hang on the wall with little pockets in, and every day there was a new little precious gift to discover. New fics every day is just like that. And they're all so good and heartbreaking and happy-making and it's early Christmas!!! Many thanks to the writers who've done such an incredible job and are making me so happy every day (or really sad).
